Default You'll never guess what happened to my NEW P3!!

I'm so sad. I just received my P3 about two weeks ago,...only took it out twice. This weekend my husband cleaned out our trunk and left the stroller standing folded upright behind our car. Later he left to go pick something up and I heard the loudest crunch as he was backing up. Yup! My brand new P3 is now roadkill. :( Actually, it's not too bad, but there are deep scratches everywhere. It looks like it's been dragged along concrete (which it was). Some of the plastic popped off, but I was able to put most of it back on. I was so upset,...I even cursed, which I never do! ;) But twenty minutes later I cooled down enough to realize it was just a stroller and even though $230 is a lot of money for us, it's just money. Anyway, DH felt pretty bad about it also and he told me to order another one. The thing is we used it today and it's still usable, in fact it held up pretty well so far (something you P3 owners will be glad to know, not that it would ever happen to you!) The frame looks a little bent, but it didn't seem to affect the performance. We're thinking that this one could be our "doesn't matter what happens to it" stroller. So now that I have the ok to get another stroller, my question is, would you get another P3, or something else? I just think it would be a waste to have two of the exact same stroller since the damaged one is still usable and there's so many strollers I'd love to have as well, but on the other hand, the P3 (in synergy) was my ultimate stroller,...the one I wanted if I could only have one. So what would you do?

Can't believe it still works so well after all that abuse! LOL!

My Pliko was my "big" stroller. If I had it all to do over again, I'd have gotten another smaller umbrella stroller for quick trips along with it. After using the Peg for 2 years I bought a Maclaren. My only regret was not getting a Mac sooner.

My only real advice would be.... if you don't love it the day you buy it, you never will. It sounds as if the P3 already has your unconditional affection. :)

I would suggest thay you call Peg Perego and ask them as well if it's safe to use the stroller and if not, ask if they would replace the stroller at a discount for you. I've had good luck with their customer service department.

Not that this is an answer to your question, but if makes you feel any better, both me and my girlfriend have backed over our strollers with our cars! My suffered an alignment problem afterwards, hers was totaled. So don't feel too bad - seems to be a common problem!

Just wondering if you used your credit card to buy it? If so, check out their insurance policy. Many cards have coverage to replace things bought on the card and lost/stolen/broken within a specified period of time. Can't hurt to ask!

Which Maclaren did you buy? My only concerns about the Macs are the seat position and the lack of a front bar. But it seems like you didn't miss it when you switched?

That certainly says a lot for this stroller! Wow! If it works well, why not try out something else. At least test drive another maker & maybe you will still want another P3.

I got a Mac Daytripper at BRU for $129. I'm having kind of a funny time loving all my strollers these days. I like and dislike different features on all of them!

The reclined seat position on the Mac is PERFECT for my sleeping children! My 7 month old sits comfortably in it, and my 2.5 yr old has slept in it on more than one occasion in the past month while we were in a restaurant and eating lunch. I leave the stroller in the reclined position. Seems to work well for quick trips and we don't miss the napper bar. I actually prefer not having to deal with moving the napper bar all the time. Suddenly, I find it a little annoying to "mess" with the napper on the Pliko. ;)

I find the Mac easier to push with my heavier 2 yr old than my Pliko! The Pliko carries more, never feels like it might tip, and is a sturdier stroller overall, but the Mac folds so nicely and I can easily push it with 1 hand. I don't know if you've tried to push the P3 with 1 hand yet, but try it. I can guarantee that some time in the next 3 years you will need to do this! :)

Like I said, there are many pros and cons to all strollers! One
plus for the Mac is the width, which is 18 inches wide. SOOOOOOOO easy to maneuver in and out of aisles while shopping quickly. Also, if you get too much stuff, you can hang the handles over the edge of a shopping cart. Can't do THAT with a Pliko.

Thanks for the suggestion! I did talk to my credit card company and they said it's covered!! Whooo hooo! Of course I had to speak to five different people, but Chase Visa came through in the end! I'm so happy with them,...loyal customer for life now! (This is the credit card I got through TRU if anyone else has it!) Thanks!!!
:)
