Default Our Chicco London

So I was all set to post about how wonderful this stroller is and how well it's held up over a vigorous month-long trip and what happens? You guessed it, it fell apart. Started collapsing with Ds in it. Thank goodness we had just went into a store and were not 15 uphill blocks away from our place. A nice man helped me find most of the parts which fell off and Dh fixed it, although we are still missing one washer.

It's 6 months old, not sure if I still have the receipt (babiesrus.com - ugh). What should I do? Should I contact Chicco? It seems that having a stroller start to collapse with your child IN IT is quite a hazard.

I've never had good luck dealing with BRU - but it could have been our local one. If it were me, I'd start there, being prepared to go to Chicco (at the very least, I'd contact them and let them know what happened - someone there should have a record of it, in case there have been other episodes). Does the stroller have any #'s on it - style, mfr. date? I'd have these handy when I called both places - IMO you should get a brand new one with no problems - I'd also ask if anyone else has reported this type of issue (though they're unlikely to say), and check the CPSC site for recall info. If you don't want a new stroller, and I'd understand if you didn't, I'd tell them right from the start that I wanted a refund. Vigorous trip or not, if you kept the weight at or below the limit, 6 months is way too early (imo) for a stroller to "wear out". Hope everything works out for you.

Thanks! Yes, my son is below their limit...he's around 26 pounds.

I think I may *start* with the manufacturer b/c BRU is not all that near us. I do, however, still have my box which I understand is a refund requirement for them. Not sure about my spamazon.com receipt, though. I think I do.

I'm so bummed...seriously, I was already formulating this rave review about it.
