Default PP Atlantico Sportivo Owners

We took DS for his first stroll in the Sportivo as he is outgrowing his Snugride and had a few questions. Maybe I'm just used to seeing him nice and cozy in the Snugride but he seems awfully small in the Sportivo (16 pounds, 26 inches, 5.5 months).

Is he supposed to be loosey-goosey in there (that's with the harness in the holder still)? Should I have the harness off the holder-thingy at this age? He can't sit up yet so we have him in the semi-reclined position. But he ends up slipping down so he's half reclined and half up (he's so nosy, he must see what's going on around him) - a position I'm sure is not good for his back and neck! The fully upright position looks uncomfortable and the fully reclined position has him struggling to sit up so he can look around.

I'm just not sure what he's supposed to look like in there...

Thanks!

We have an Atlantico, and strangely enough, our daughter is the EXACT weight, legnth and age!!! Woah!

Anyway, I just started putting Autumn in the stroller without her carseat, too. I'm able to adjust the harness so that she is in there pretty snug. We also keep the harness in the holder attached to the seat and semi-reclined. I notice that if I change the seat angle, I also need to adjust the harness for a proper fit.

Additionally, and maybe this would help you, we use a Bundle Me Big in the stroller. This keeps her nice and cozy.

We also have this stroller and love it! I've had my little guy in there since he was 4 weeks - he was a pretty big baby at birth and I keep the seat reclined as far back as it will go (he's now 13 lbs at 8 weeks - I'm not sure how tall). We keep the harness on the holder thing to get a better "fit". So far, that has worked for our short walks around the neighborhood but he's not at the stage yet to try to see everything around him like your son. Hope this helps!

I would use a snuzzler to help prop him and cradle him. I use them in all my strollers until the babies are big enough to sit comfortably.

Thanks for the responses ladies!

Gina - does your DD get hot in the Bundle Me Big? We live in Southern CA and it was 87 degrees today (!!) so I'm afraid DS would get too hot in there.

Cathy - I like the look of the Snuzzler but is it only for newborns? Is there a similar product made for bigger babies?

I'm still trying to get used to not being able to see DS on walks now that he's forward facing. I keep stopping and checking him like a worried hen!

You can also purchase a Bundle Me Lite which is made out of a lighter fabric.

FYI, the seat on the Atlantico does fully recline. If it doesn't, you need to remove two little plastic pieces in the back - and it will recline all the way.

I started putting my son in the Atlantico without carseat at 4 months. I kept it semi-reclined because he wanted to see. I also kept the harness in the clip.

The snuzzler works well past the newborn stage. The headrest part adjusts up with velcro. I used mine for much longer than 6 mos.
