Default P3 vs. Inglesina Zippy

It was recommended to me that I purchase the 2005 1/2 Inglesina Zippy over the 2005 P3....

Any opinions?

Well, there aren't too many differences between the P3 and the Zippy, so I think that what would work best for you depends on your needs. They both weight 17 pounds, have nice padding and canopies, 5-point harnesses, the wheels are about the same size. Things that might make a difference for you are:

-- The Zippy has a true one-hand fold. If you go here: http://www.inglesina.us/prodotti/lis...onid=41&sesid= you cen see a video of it. The P3 really takes two hands to fold

-- The P3 has a child tray, where the Zippy just has a napper bar. The tray is useful because when your baby is old enough, you can load it up with Cheerios instead of handing them to your tyke one at a time

-- The P3 has a child "boogie board" at the back so an older kid can ride for brief periods. This is helpful if you currently have (or plan to have) two children who are far enough apart in age that the older one can mostly walk while the younger one rides

-- The P3 has telescoping handles, which is convenient if either you or your spouse (or both!) are taller. Having the handles extend will make it more comfortable for you to push the stroller.

All of those may or may not factor into your decision depending on what your needs are. Personally, I like the P3, because of the child tray, and because I have folded it and unfolded it in the store and the fold doesn't bother me.

Hope that helps.

Sarah

Um, the 05 1/2 Zippy hasn't even shipped yet, so I'm not sure how great that advice was.

IMO if you have time, try both out IRL and then decide. They are going to be quite similar and it may come down to a personal "feel" decision.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Best,
Mary

It is a personal choice----they are both great strollers!

I had a Zippy when DD was first born (October 2004), and I ended up returning it because it broke after less than a month of use. Inglesina customer service was an absolute nightmare, and they were no help whatsoever. At the time, I posted my experience on this board, and it turned out a lot of other people had a similar experience (both with their Zippy breaking in the same way, and with terrible customer service). For these reasons, I would recommend NOT buying an Inglesina stroller.
