Default Pardon my ignorance: Quest v. Vogue?

What's the difference and why is there an inexpensive Vogue for sale at Target? So confused.

Thanks,
Samantha

Hi Samantha,

The Target Vogue looks EXACTLY like my 2003 Vogue. I have not checked a mfr date on one in the store but I do wonder...

I don't think it's inexpensive...at $199 or $229 (forget?) it's expensive enough that I'd consider a Techno.

Best,
Mary

Actually, I didn't mean inexpensive in general, but it is less than the Vogues sold elsewhere (by about $50) so I was wondering why. I am thinking about the Quest as a travel in addition to my Buzz and kept coming across messages mentioning the Vogue. Just curious really. Thanks.

I'm not sure about the differences between the Vogue and the Quest. I have never seen the Vogue in person, and unfortunately the Target website doesn't give many technical specifications (weight, height, wheel size, etc.) so it is difficult to compare the two. Target also does not sell the Quest, so even if you were there in person and they had the Vogue (not all stores are carrying the Macs) you couldn't do a side-by-side comparison. Very frustrating. :( The Vogue is also very hard to find -- I think I read somewhere that they stopped making it, but then Target started selling it again???

I do highly recommend the Quest, however, and you can get it at Albee Baby right now for $129 w/ free shipping, which is a super price:

Hope that helps a little.

I had the Quest and still have the Vogue (though I'm returning it). Here are a few pictures of the two. I'm not sure why they are so huge!

Hi,

First, your little monkey is so cuuuute sleeping in there!

Why are you returning it? And is there a mfr date on it anywhere? I just have this sneaking feeling that it IS my 2003 Vogue and that Target bought up a surplus...

Best,
Mary

Thanks!

I'm returning it for 2 reasons: 1) doesn't come w/ a boot (neither the store one nor the online one) and 2) I'm expecting again so I'm going to need a double.

The manufacture date says Nov 04. I actually preferred the Vogue to the Quest. Higher handles, nicer fabric, better steering, better hood.

I also just saw that Target lowered the price on them online to $199, but the description still says it includes the boot. I even called Maclaren and told them about it, but they seemed like they really didn't care.

Great pictures! Love the sleeping baby.
I hope you don't mind me adding a couple more questions. How does the weight of the Vogue and Quest compare? How do the reclines compare? I have been considering the Quest and don't know much about the Vogue. My main priorities are lightweight, good recline, leg extension, and compact fold.

Thanks for you side-by-side photos. They help loads.

Thanks everyone!

Heather, your little one is adorable!

Looking at the side-by-side pics, I think I like the Vogue better. I wonder if I can find one. It will come down to the weight for me though. So I am off to do some more research. Thanks for all of your responses!

I'm pretty sure the Vogue is discontinued, and they've brought the Ryder back in its place. If I remember correctly, people complained a bit about the Vogue's balance. Take that with a pinch of salt, though, because I don't remember well what the issue was.

Target do seem to sell items sometimes that are, for want of a better phrase, considered "less desirable" because they're the previous year's model or whatever. I think that's why some models tend to appear in Target and then disappear once the first wave is sold---there's not a standing order.
