Default Reviews of the new Mac Twin Techno?

I am considering a Mac TT for my toddler and baby due in Oct. I have been thinking about an MBUD but I just can't swallow the price. The MBUD would be the only double I could afford and I am concerned about the bulkiness for everyday use, in and out of the car etc. I also considered a single Valco with a toddler seat but I am thinking I should go for a stroller with a higher weight limit. The Twin TT has a 55 lb limit per seat vs 45 for the Valco.

Hence, the new idea of the Mac TT. Then I could also afford a separate double jogger.

Questions re: Mac TT:
Does it fit well through doors and aisles in stores?
Would it work well for a large 35 lb 2 year old and a newborn?
Do the height adjustible handles work well for tall folks or do you kick the back of the stroller?
Is fold compact to fit well in back of a Camry without taking up the whole trunk?
Is Mac weight limit for real? Would it really hold 55 lbs per seat?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,
For my first son I had purchased the bugaboo frog. Then we were pregnant again 8 months later. I recently purchased the twin techno in tangerine and yesterday was my first outing. The ride was nice. I am 5'10 and I had no problems with the handles or kicking the back of the stroller. The only issue I had was the seats appear to be very compact. My son is 20 months old, 36 inches/ 25 pounds and he clearly loked too small for the stroller.

Yikes... that's my concern about my toddler. He is such a big boy and tall for his age (probably about the same height - 36 in). He already looks big in my Silver Cross Mini and the TT looks like a similar size stroller in a doubles form. I may have to go for one of the bigger doubles. I was just hoping for something more lightweight! I don't know if Babies R Us sells any of the Mac doubles in store, but I plan to check and try them out before I buy. Thanks for the tip!

My DD is 3.5 years old, pretty tall at 41", and hovering around 37 pounds. She does fit in the 2004 Mac Twin Traveller. It still drives great. I don't know that a 55 lbs child would REALLY fit, but I do think it'd hold up. (I guess I trust Mac that they are strong enough.)

If you are planning on a different jogger, I think it'd work ok. It wouldn't be great as your only outside option, hence the need for the jogger.

At that age, my DD really slowed in growth for about a year. Now she's just finished a huge growth spurt at 3.5. I loved the TT for car errands, shopping, and even light outside walking. It fit fine in my trunk. It took about about 1/2. (I had it it on a side, just wheeled it in.)

I love my Mac Twin Traveller which is now called the Twin Techno.
I recently put it up for sale in my local message board because my twins who are ~32 inches and ~30 pounds looked cramped in it. I really love this stroller and don't want to part with it but we haven't used it in so long.

Anyway, we recently purchased a BOB Revolution for walking/jogging and might use it for trips to the mall ONLY when DH comes with...he has to load and unload it.

Now, I'm looking for something that I can use when running errands on my own with the twins. I'm leaning towards the Peg Aria. I tried it out today at BRUS and the seats were roomier. The Aria might be a little wider. It is lighter (14 lbs) and doesn't feel as sturdy as the MTT but for something that I will use only for errands alone it'll be fine.

Good luck OP!

We were given a Mac TT just recently and have used it for only about 10 minutes. What I found is that my kids really don't sit well in this stroller. At 23 months my son is 36.5 inches and 32lbs+ and he looks extremely squashed in it. But the Mac TT pushes really well and has quite a compact fold.

We also have the Peg Aria Twin and though the manuveribilty isn't that great, there is about a 6lbs difference with my kids, my kids sit quite well in this stroller and they both like having a snack tray.
