I received a babies 'r us catalog in the mail and it had this stroller in it. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it or is it brand new? I have a sit 'n stand and hate how hard it is to push so I was hoping this would be better. Any thoughts?

I just called my local BRU and asked a few questions about this stroller, here's what the SA had to say:
it has been pulled from the shelves as of right now because FP is researching the front snack tray and it's relation to attaching an infant carrier...she didn't know when it would be back out on the shelves, they were just waiting for FPs ok. i asked about steering, weight, blah blah & this is what the SA had to say: steered quite well, didn't find it hard it is quite long, but not as long as a tandem it is HEAVY, probably the same weight as a tandem it looks really nice compared to other sit & stands, she said that it's definately more sturdy feeling that other sit & stands. i hope that FP fixes any problems that they are having soon, i'd LOVE to get this stroller this summer! hTH! |

Thanks for the update! I would love to go try it out at the store too. I really like the look of it and if it steers just a little better than my sit 'n stand then it is worth it. I only use it for mall shopping anyway. I have my MBUD for walks, etc...

I played with the SRDuo a couple weeks ago while I was at BRU. Compared to the Joovy Caboose, I found it to be a monstrosity. The Joovy didn't seem nearly as hard to steer as the FP one.
I was actually pretty impressed with the Joovy but think I want a real seat for DD. I don't have a double and will probably get a side by side. http://www.gynosaur.com/assets/ribbons/ribbon_gold_12m.gif[/img] Last edited by Wife_and_mommy; 02-28-2010 at 02:06 AM. |

I called Fisher-Price customer service for more info about this stroller (I liked how it looked in the pics), and here is what she told me:
Will be re-stocked end of July/beginning of August Weighs 33.25 lbs Open size - 40" long x 18" wide x 44" tall closed size - 40" long x 18" wide x 18" tall There is no belt on the riding platform area (but I would guess one could be added to at least hold a toddler in a little) Traci ~Connor's Mom 02/2004~ Agency paperwork completed - waiting (and waiting) for another baby! |

We purchased the Stand 'n Ride and had MANY MANY problems with it.
We purchased the stand 'n ride and immediately had to return because the tray broke the first time we folded and unfolded. No big deal, so we thought... Secondly, after exchanging, we were sold a pre-recalled edition of the stroller that had the defective tray that prevented the infant carrier from mounting safely. Again we brought the stroller back and exchanged for the re-engineered tray model. Third, the latest exchanged model's front wheels didn't navigate properly. So we brought it back to Toys R Us again and were given a new set of wheels. Lastly, the latest set of wheels were wobbly and by this point we were fed up and returned the stroller and vowed never to buy FP stroller again. We picked up the Joovy today and can say that it : 1. Is lighter and more compact. 2. Is easier to assemble (just pop on the front wheels, tray and hood) 3. Less plastic and IMO more aesthetically pleasing. 4. The seat for the child in the rear can move forward when the front child is in the recline position. FP couldn't do this and meant the child in the rear had to stand. 5. 5-PT harness. FP had only 3-PT in front. 6. Much easier to steer. |

I was really impressed with all the features of this stroller. Especially the high weight limit for it. The backseat for the toddler/preschooler goes to 50lbs whereas most other Sit N Stand type strollers only goes to 45lbs.
I have seen bad reviews on BRU's website for it. One mom on Baby Center posted she loved her FP Stand N Ride. I can't wait to see this stroller in person to decide for myself. I went to 3 stores yesterday - Baby Depot, Target, & USA Baby/Child Space and neither of those stores had it. They had the Joovy & Sit N Stand, but not the F.P. I'll have to make a trip to BRU to see it. |

I hope it comes out before next summer... we walk up to the pool, and that big basket feature would be awesome for all the towels and junk we have to haul along...I wouldn't expect much of it, but the ten trips 1/8th of a mile to the pool per summer would be terrific, lol.
