Default Volo - regret having no recline when traveling?

I just came back from WDW with my 14 mo old and I am ready to run over my Combi Cosmo with my SUV. I hate it, hate it, hate it (can you tell how much I hate it?) I swear it was designed by someone who never pushed a stroller before. The only plus is that it has a full recline for a compact stroller. I want a Volo, but I am afraid I will regret having no recline and that I should have gotten the Triumph. DD will be napping in it and I will be using the basket for small bags when we are traveling. The other thing is the mesh vs cloth, does anyone not like this?

Default RE: Volo - regret having no recline when traveling?

I'm having the same dilemma!!! I get to go to a conference when dd is 15 months, so I pulled out the Combi today, and it's such a beast to push, and the recline keeps reclining too much... uuuuugh)... I don't know whether to go with the Volo (which was FINE for napping for my 2-4 year old dd1, so I know that it's great for older toddler), or the Britax Verve (folds tiny...but tiny basket...might want more recline...I DO love it, though...I just want something else, lol). So I just don't know whether to go with a Quest or a Trip or what???? I wish the Triumph had a slightly deeper seat, I find that's most people's complaint about it.... Silver Cross Pop, maybe? strollerqueen's site has me drooling... mia moda cielo?

I just don't know!

I got our Volo when DS was 14 months old. At that time, he seemed a little uncomfortable because the seat hit him in a weird spot on the back of his legs (he is tall for his age, but it seemed like he wasn't quite tall enough for it to be comfortable). He quickly grew into it, though. It is the stroller that we use the most, and I adore it. He has fallen asleep in it, and he didn't mind it at all. The mesh is a bonus for us since we live in Orlando, and it is so freakin hot all the time. I bought a Skip Hop Saddlebag for it, and that has worked out wonderfully for going to Sea World and Islands of Adventure.

I use my P3 for other occasions (like when I know that he'll be taking a long nap while I shop), but for quick trips and theme parks, I always use my Volo.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Also, you can make a seat cushion for it, if you experience the same problem. I bought McCall's pattern M4897, but never got around to making the cushion because DS has seemed fine with the seat since about 2 weeks after we started using the Volo.

HTH!

I've never regretted our Volo's lack of recline. My DS, who does not normally sleep in the stroller, slept in the Volo the first time I took him out in it (at ~2 years). My DD has also had no problems falling asleep in it if she's tired.

Thanks all! Of course I could have bought a black 2006 Volo at BRU on clearance, plus a coupon and then opened a BRU charge with another 20% off... it would have been around $64!

Of course the family behind me in line at the airport had that exact stroller and I was drooling. My next big trip is August (21 months), so she should hopefully grow into the Volo by then.

Next project, write Combi a nasty letter telling them they can take their stoller and.....................................

If I could do it over, I would get the all black one. Mine is black and silver. The silver hood looked dirty after the first time that I used it :( When you close it, the wheels touch the hood and gets it filthy. Just a warning.

Yeah, black is good... they even still make the Carbon almost the same way they've made it since 2002, mine still looks really good, and it's the old kind that you can't even take the seat off, so I'm happy it's held up so well (I have the black accessory kit for it, I think black stays cleaner than silver, for sure)

I have a red 2005 with the black hood and like it a lot. That said, my DD does not sleep in strollers. But we've used it for drs. appts., short mall trips, etc. for a while now and it is a great stroller. Tippy (so don't hang a bag off it!) but great.

I have an older Volo (I think it's an '03) and I love it. I have to say I bought it when my child was about 3yrs old though. BUT, he is able to sleep in it w/o a recline. He still uses it at 5.5yrs of age and the last time he fell asleep in it was this past july at the age of 5yrs 3months.

also we like the mesh.
