I am looking for a double jogger for occasional use this summer. The girls will be 5.5 (48 pounds, 44 inches) and 2 y/o. We will only use the stroller for walks to the playground and the occasional zoo/amusement park trip. How important is swivel/fixed for us, if we're not really using the stroller for running? Also, I would like to find something that is not too much of a bear to get in the trunk if we do travel.
I'm looking at the Baby Jogger City Double and the Baby Jogger Double Q, as they look pretty easy to fold up. Is the main difference the front wheel? Will these hold my 5 year old? I need to find a place in MA that has them to test drive... Alternatively, is there a regular double that I should consider, given the weight issue? (We have a Sit n Stand that I haven't used for some time now.) Thanks so much! ~Colleen Julia, 1-10-02 Emma, 7-27-05 “I do believe in fairies. I do, I do. |

For your purposes, you will absolutely want a swivel wheel. All of them can be fixed if/when you want that feature as well. So between those two BJ strollers, you'd want the city double for sure. I think each seat holds 50 lbs., so if you have a typical 5 year old, you should be fine. Another option would be the mountain buggy which might be roomier, but I'm not sure to be honest.
