My 2005 Vaco Runabout has a flat tire. Any suggestions on how to repair? Do I take it to a bike shop or buy a new tire somewhere? Thanks in advance.

Changing flat is really easy. You can either patch the tube (need to buy a patch kit), or just install a new tube (which you'll have to buy, likely at a bike store). Either way, you'll need tire levers and a pump. I don't bother patching, unless I'm out of tubes and in the middle of nowhere. Tubes are cheap. Go to a bike store, buy some supplies (couple of spare tubes, levers, a pump) and have them show you how to change a tube. Keep your spares in a ziplock bag, in the stroller somewhere.

I'd take it to the bike store and have them show you how to do it. They'll probably just charge you for the materials you need. If they patch it they might not even charge you for the patch (our corner bike shop does it for me for free!).
Once you know how to do it, it's really easy. Lisa Mom to Gator July 2003 And Cha-Cha July 2005 and surprise! twins due 11/07! |
