Narrow Gate

We live in an old house, and the doorway to the basement (no door!!) is only 24 inches. I haven't found a gate that is narrow enough (the kidco one says 24 3/4, won't work). Can anyone help me?????

We have a narrow set of spiral stairs that are not more than 24". I found a pressure-mount gate (from Target) that worked (barely), and also gated off the hall with the access to the stairs.

Look into the Kiddy Guard gate by Infantino. It's a stretch across fabric type gate rather than a fixed width but it can be used at the top of stairs. Per the maker's website, it spans widths from 0 to 51 inches.
