Default Staining a wood (Evenflo) gate?

I'm in the middle of installing a bunch of Evenflo wooden
gates, and I'm wondering if anyone has tried to stain them.
It would be nice if I could get them to sort of match the
woodwork in my house.

The wood appears to have no finish on it, but I haven't
attempted any experiments yet. Perhaps someone else has
tried this?

Thanks.

Default RE: Staining a wood (Evenflo) gate?

Hi Ted,
We used the Evenflo gate at the entrance to our front porch and did attempt to stain it with the same stain as the rest of the wood. There does seem to be some kind of finish on the gate, as it only absorbed a small amt of stain. I would say it darkened it a little but in no way does it match. Perhaps if you sanded it? Good luck.
Sandy
