Default Neighbors dirty rugrats running through my house!

I am new to my neighborhood in the suburbs and the neighbors seem to be friendly and welcoming. Although there are a few that I will NEVER let into my house again. I open the door to a neighbor who rang the doorbell (never seen her or met her) and her dirty daughter who has no shoes on (her feet are dirty too) runs through my house before I even get to "hello". She is running around like a wild girl and jumping on my furniture going through my living room. My house is nicely decorated and very neat. Meanwhile the mother is just standing there like nothing is happening! I had to tell her to stop before she broke one of my crystal vases. Turns out this woman was a bit of a psycho as she didn't even live on my street but was preying on an unsuspecting newcomer!
Next person, new day. A neighbor who I met a couple days before stops by (what is it with these "stop bys?" on the weekends when I am with my husband?!!!). She and her husband come over with their 2 kids (uninvited, no less) and again as soon as I open the door the bratty kids start running in 2 different directions. The girl is crawling through my living room under the doublesided fireplace. The boy is nowhere to be found and screaming through my house. The parents once again JUST STANDING THERE!!!!x( We just moved in so we have all of our artwork all over the house until we get it hung next week. She is walking though another room and scuffing her shoes as she walks on our hard wood floors. Then the bratty girl asks if she can hold my baby. Ah that would be a NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Then she starts to run around again about to pick up a crystal candlestick and I said "NO!, OUT OF THAT ROOM NOW". They left shortly after that. THANK GOODNESS. My husband and I were dumbfounded after they left. We couldn't believe the behavior and the parents saying nothing!
I know this is not normal!!!
Both woman wanted to get together and make plans and I can tell you now that there is NO chance of that ever happening.
I am not ever answering my door again!
Just venting......:7

p.s. my moms friends thought this story was not even real. they couldn't believe it and they all have grandkids.

Wowsers. That's very bizarre! The people across the street do that to us occasionally, but we at least know them. Some people have no sense! Maybe you need a chain on your door?? Unless the kids are really skinny, you'd be safe! :P

I didn't know you had moved to the suburbs.

That's strange about the kids running around the house. To be honest, it never would have occurred to me that weekends are not a good time to stop by to meet someone who just moved in.

Stopping by is one thing but letting your kids run through our house when we were home relaxing and playing with our son is another thing.
I think it is nice of the neighbors to stop by but not when they are intrusive.

yes and we moved to the burbs. love it out here! i find it MUCH easier with a baby.

Stacey,

Of course letting your kids run through someone else's house is unacceptable behavior!

If you don't mind my asking -- which suburb did you move to? You can PM me if you don't want to post it.

LOL, why don't you have them meet each other so they can be friends and leave you alone!
