Really, I think my Target requires IQ test scores and then selects only the lowest range as cashiers. Literally four times in the last two months I've had to go back to the customer service counter to get my purchase corrected. Tonight it was to correct two items I'd been charged twice for (but only bought one of each) and change the fact the cashier had somehow turned my 2 coupons (one was for a free item and one was for $2 off something) into 3 separate $2 off coupons with nothing being for free. (And no, the multiple $2s off didn't even come close to balancing off the price of the item that was supposed to be for free...I have no clue what the guy was thinking). I just don't get it! I try to watch what they're doing, but it's just too darn difficult to monitor every single thing they're doing while trying to contain my DDs. I seriously wish Target would start having self checkout lines!

Oh yeah, this hasn't happened to me in awhile (that I know of,lol). But I *hate* when a cashier messes things up. I always feel like they're doing it on purpose just to be evil, haha. Hope it didn't take too long over at CS to get it sorted out.

Write a letter to the manager expressing your frustration. Insist on more training! Those cashiers are stuck on a register with little to no training on a very complex computer system. I worked for Target many years ago and I had 3 days on a register with someone assisting me, then 16 hours (over 4 days) of intense register training where all we did was practice and learn what the different function keys did.
Now the registers are far more complex and new employees are lucky if they get a few hours with someone training them. I think it is ridiculous that they stick such new or poorly trained employees on a shoppers last part of shopping. |

That's a good idea. I'll put writing a couple letters to the manager and corporate on my to do list!

I always have problems too. For one, buying bagels there is such a pain (I'm in Oklahoma, and you can't really buy real bagels anywhere else- they at least sell Einstein bagels in their bakery!). They never understand how to charge you for a dozen! I've been charged either for 13 individual bagels (um, no!) or for like 3 bagels and they just say that's fine (well, fine with me!). It can't be that hard!
And also, I don't understand why, at a really busy time of day (late afternoon), all the cashiers seem to be 17. So, none of them can ring up alcohol purchases and a manager is "mysteriously" busy so you have to either wait like 20 minutes for them to come stick their key in and OK the sale or say forget the alcohol. Ugh!
