Sonia's Bridal in Boston or other custom dressmakers?

Has anyone had any experience with Sonia's Bridal in Jamaica Plain, specifically with regard to having a dress custom made? Also does anyone know of a good custom dressmaker in Boston? I would really like to have my dress custom made since the "real" version costs over $5K which I *cannot* afford! I'd really appreciate any input!
