Default OT - What was your prom's song?

I'm having fun reading about everyone's fav. bands. Soooo, do you remember prom - what was THE song??

Mine (Class of '87): Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven"- bunch of burnouts :) - we couldn't have Bon Jovi's "Never Say Goodbye" b/c of the six-pack reference!

Stand by Me (Class of '94) A popular song from when my prom was held that the theme probably should've been is These Are Days by 10,000 Maniacs. Eegads, that means my 10 year reunion is next year.

Also class of '87 and I believe ours was "Never Say Goodbye"...but I confess, that was almost too long ago for me to be sure.

I don't remember my prom song. Wait - I think it was Always and Forever. Yeah that's it. Can't remember who sang it.

I do know that Stairway to Heaven was our class song. (class of '80)

Senior prom ('88) was Modern English's "Melt with You". Some class council dorks must have seriously picked it, because most of the class had never even heard of it before.

The Junior prom theme was "Time of our Lives" from Dirty Dancing. Another song nobody wanted, but somehow got picked.

1988. yeah, i'm old, too. ours was a journey song i have still never heard: "why can't this night go on forever". my best friend (we were just like Andie &Duckie from Pretty in Pink... why i have an eternal soft spot for jon cryer) re-dubbed it "oh, why can't this night end now". and i STILL can't remember the theme from my junior prom.

(time lapse)

ok, i went and consulted my photo album & 1987 yearbook with the black FLOCKED VELVET COVER (good grief) and i still don't know.

"burnouts"! -- i thought that was only a western PA moniker! all the "heads" used to smoke next to the gashouse. go figure. darwinism.

(typed as someone drove by blaring Andy Gibb's "(Love Is) Higher Than A Mountain".. man, that VH1 "i love the 80s" really hit a nerve)
