To have it arrive by Christmas! DS has been saying Santa is bringing him a bike for Christmas so it had better be under that tree!!!!!
We are going to splurge and purchase him a Kettler Tricycle. We have decieded on the Jumbo model for the larger seat... they make two models. One with the standard wheels and one with the Air tires! I went to Traveling tikes yesterday and Brian recommends the standard wheels said unless DS was going to be on gravel they are enough! I called another supplier that said her son has the Air Jumbo... it is really a nicer ride (I know my DS will be going over curbs in this trike if I let him... he's a dare devil) so the added cushion sounds like it would be a good thing. She also said the Air tires are quieter on the sidewalk etc.... not such a bad thing in my mind if I am walking along side!!!! She reminded me that the standard wheels are good quality NOT anything like a big wheel... LOL! Another point Brian made was the air tires make it heavier but she said not by much!!!! So what would you do???? Buy the standard and assume he'll be in a bigger bike soon anyways and will have airtires then or splurge and get the Air Jumbo and let him have the cadillac of tricycles??? DH has left it up to me and said he is totally fine with spending the extra money for the Air Jumbo.... AAHHH I don't know what to do... HELP!!!! Figures I leave it up to the last day to order to ensure it will arrive before Christmas!!!!!! thanks for your help!!!! Here is a link to both.. first the Jumbo and then the Air Jumbo! http://www.travelingtikes.com/cgi-lo...ore/?E+scstore http://www.travelingtikes.com/cgi-lo...ore/?E+scstore ~Tondi and Mason |

I'd splurge :)
I think durable tires are important especially if he is the dare devil you describe!!! But either way it is an awesome product you can't go wrong!!! :)I would not worry about the noise since you won't know what to compare it to anyway I doubt you'll notice it. Dh and I agree those are some nice looking trikes. We'd go with the air filled tires, in fact that trike has been bumped to the top of Nates bday gifts.

Hi,
I have the JUMBO, and I recommend it very highly. I couldn't be happier. It's plenty smooth and quiet, even on the sidewalks. I never did a side-by-side comparison, but my 3 year old loves his tricycle! Sara |

They both look nice! If you want /need the pushbar I noticed it comes free with the airjumbo but not the jumbo. So I would go with the air if you need that, otherwise I'm sure the jumbo would be fine.

I've seen both types and probably a year ago or so i'd say who cares about air wheel but since getting them on strollers...i know they do provide quite a cushion ride kwim?
I would imagine the same to be true with trikes... We will get the air wheel style for ds when the spring arrives and the snow is gone :D GL either way they look like fab trikes luv the tandem one lol... http://pages.ivillage.com/cl-pamelamomof3 |
