Default how do you tame baby boy's hair?

jack's wispy goosedown hair is getting a little longish, but i don't want to cut it yet. it smooths down nicely after a bath, but one wiggle and it is sticking out everywhere! he takes after his mama re: hat/bed hair.

i'm thinking ahead particularly to formal portraits, but any day-to-day advice is welcome.

sounds like he needs to apply some product!

LOL.

ok, really though... we had to cut schuyler's. i have cut it several times, actually. we always joke about how he needs a little product. it looks much better after i trim the ends off.

there is always the spit and smooth technique...

and do brush it flat as soon as he gets out of the bath. that always helps keep it flat when it dries.

My current avatar is an example of the spit and shine technique, before Kai got his hair cut! I never did find a good way to control his wispy hair, but the hair cut has been great. Even if I don't brush his hair now, it still looks good.

Not sure what Kyan would recommend but I've found a tiny tiny bit of Aquaphor works wonders! And it's always in the house...

We've been using Loreal's version of no more tangles. Brig's hair is getting out of hand in a mullet sort of way.;) Everybody is telling me to let it go because he's a baby, but some days it looks awfully funny. I have also been combing his hair in the tub. It seems to stay nicer longer now. I don't know how Jack's hair is (hat in avatar) but Brig's has just started coming in the past few months.

So I don't have a boy, but I thought that I would mention that a spray bottle of water is part of Ainsleigh's morning routine. She has her baths at night, so by morning she is quite a sight (sometimes she purposely fluffs her own hair for maximum effect). Anyway, a few spritzes and a comb through her hair and she looks shower/bath fresh again.

And I have been known, on occasion, to provide help through a product...

That's exactly what we do Sarah - the handy spray bottle! You can find the little ones at Target, etc. and they are very inexpensive. I just it in the downstairs bathroom and spray the boys hair every morning, as they too have their showers at night.

lol - Shannon, I love Queer Eye!

I am in the minority, I actually mess Nolan's hair up. :D I smooth it out after a bath, but sometimes I fuzz it up intentionally. He doesn't have a lot of hair & it isn't thick, at all, so that could make a diff. I just think he looks cute with his peach fuzz sticking straight up.

We use the loreal stuff too. It smells yummy and makes Thatch's hair shinier post-nap head. He has my super thick hair and we fight with it several times a day.
