OMG. That is so awful. It's so hard for us, in the safety of our homes, to understand that this sort of thing still goes on today. Simply nauseating.

Debbie I tried to click on it but it made me register... but I assume it might be on the killings in places like Iran where a women gets raped and her own family actually kills her....

Oprah did a huge segment on this with Madeline Albright and Maria Shriver...and honestly it probably effected me more than anything I have ever watched...

Then you see that a full tribe of women and children were "hacked" and burned these past few days in Sudan while at a camp supplied by the UN. I've said it before and I'll say it again, and I don't get care if get flamed for it by anyone...the further these victims are from caucasian folks is the less humanitarian effort that our country gives...people might not notice it but it is true!!!!!

Same thing with Amber Alerts, and the press that pregnant women who are killed by their hubby get...

So sad...

Neve, I completely agree with you. I think it is very easy for us as a society to ignore what is going on in the rest of the world if it is not directly affecting us. I have seen the Oprah show you were talking about and it was truly heartbreaking. I keep hoping that world leaders will wake up to what is going on over there and become less concerned with who controls the oil and more concerned with those who are suffering in this hell.
