Oprah - PPD/Brooke Shields Part 2 Airs Today

Today's show is new and is good to watch. It's the footage from the Brooke Shields interview that wasn't shown before, plus comments from a Dr and other ppd sufferers and husbands. Hopefully it'll help undo some of the harm Tom Cruise did. I wonder if it was Oprah's way of helping the situation and telling Tom she did not approve.

Thanks! I will try to catch this today. And maybe that is why she was supposedly "mad at TC", as we saw in a thread last week from some tabloid. It's easy for Oprah to like him in person, but when she realizes who he's badmouthing and why, maybe it didn't sit well with her.

Yeah, I wonder if that tabloid rumor is true. I'm saving today's show on TiVo, just in case I need to copy it for someone :)

Does it air twice in your town? It does in Chicago. Where are you located?

Basically, they went more indepth into the seriousness of it, discussed psychosis, a husband talked about his wife that killed herself, some signs of depression etc. Oprah asked one guest/audience member if she was on medication. She said yes and Oprah said good. There were a few medication comments -- about needing it. They talked about "perfectionists", about not placing blame or needing forgiveness (which implies the person did something wrong eg: the guy who didn't reach his wife in time as well as Brooke). Oprah kept saying that Brooke did the world a great service by talking about her ppd. The therapist talked about needing to "normalize" the topic of ppd so people aren't afraid to get help, talk abt it, make people more aware etc
