In Word, I would go to Insert>Symbol and choose it as a symbol. In my version of Word, it is listed under Latin-1.

Alternatively, you may be able to use ASCII characters. To get a lower case letter, use ALT-129 and upper is ALT-154. These utilize the number pad on your keyboard. I'm not having any luck with that in Word, but it may be because I'm on a laptop. ΓΌ - there that is ALT-129.

Again, I'd look in the Insert>Symbol menu first. ALT-164 is lower case n and ALT-165 is upper. The e is ALT-138.

Go to the character Map (usually under Accessories -> System Tools) & select the font you're using. Find the character you'd like in the grid & click on it. Click select to bring it down to the 'characters to copy' field. You can either copy & paste it from here or use the keys on the lower left of this window to type it into your document.

sorry if this is incoherent, nak.

In PC's and some of the macs that I've used, type ctrl-shift colon, then the "u". For the n, type ctrl-shift twiddle (next to the 1, I think), then the "n". And yes, you can go into the character map (insert symbol) and hunt for the characters.

I'm on a Mac. What is ALT-164? I can type the `, but can't get it over the e. Same with the ~. I can't get it over the n.

Do you have a ctrl key? Try Ctrl-shift-~ and then type the n. And try ctrl-' then type the e.

If these things don't work, do you have an insert-symbol in word? If so, you should be able to find the letters/symbols in one of the fonts, probably the latin.
