So, if you haven't caught the news, a drug company is petitioning the FDA to approve a vaccine which is believed to prevent the human papillova virus, which is responsible for 70% of all cervical cancer. The vaccine company hopes to release it for widespread vaccination by next year. I'm searching for a news release you can read, but it's all over the news. Sounds promising. Our local news interviewed moms who say they would love to get their daughters vaccinated when it comes available, which sounds pretty good to me. I wonder what it would do for us old folks who are in monogamous relationships without *much* chance of contracting HPV (an STD). I guess you never can be too sure....but it's exciting that our children (and daughters of everyone here) can give their children a chance at avoiding such a deadly cancer. Any thoughts from anyone?
Okay, help me out here. There's a pretty critical article here: http://www.mercola.com/2002/dec/11/cervical_cancer.htm, but I'm not sure how unpolitical or unbiased this guy is. The only recent story I found: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,171436,00.html Larissa who has an IUI scheduled for Saturday thanks to a big, juicy, 18mm follie! |

I don't have daughters, but I think it's great. I heard about this last week sometime, but haven't heard anything further. I hope it gets approved!
