I got the Costco Connection magazine the other day and found that there are quite a few stores outside of the US. Has anyone ever gone to an International store? Just curious to how it compares.
The "farthest" Costco stores I have visited have been all of the ones in Hawaii (best place for gas) and even the store in Puerto Rico. My co-workers make fun of me that I go on vacation and hit the Costco. |

I also hit Cotsco on vacation, LOL! I am glad to know I am not the only one. I am in Canada, so international would include the US. The farthest Costco I have been to was in Hawaii as well. It was nearly 5 years ago and we still have the Hawaiian print seat covers on our car from there.

Like the 2 PP's, I live in Canada, so most of my Costco trips are to "international" Costcos. I do go to US Costcos as well. The prices are pretty comparable to those in Canada. The US selection of products is better. Also, US Costcos carry alcohol, whereas none of the Canadian ones I've been to (in BC) have alcohol.

Kelly Ann,
the first stop on both of my vacations (one honeymoon) to Hawaii was Costco....good snacks, beach towels, water. Love Costco. Tried to go to one in England, but didn't make it. |

I've been to the Costco in Guadalajara several times. They have similar types of items, but not as many categories or options. The store was clean and tidy, and the staff was polite. We bought a modern recliner/ottoman there almost 10 years ago, and we're still using it. (And yes, it is possible to baggage check a chair if you keep the original box.)
The farthest store I've been to is Kahalui, Maui. |

When we were "living" in Japan while adopting DS, we traveled from Yokosuka to Yokohama to look for ready-to-feed formula. Alas, all we found was powdered! It was in bulk, though. ;)

I have a friend that just moved to South Korea to teach for 2 years and she went to Costco yesterday (according to her blog!) and she said that is was huge (even bigger than the ones at home) and it was packed with people. The interesting part she mentioned was that there were escalators you could take your shopping cart on as the wheels on the carts were magnetic. Anyhow, that's all I heard, but thought I would share. :)

I haven't, but my sister went to a Costco in Taiwan. She got me a bunch of yummy soup mixes (no preservatives) that apparently you can only get in a Costco in Taiwan. Not sure exactly what she meant by that, but anyway, I thought it was pretty cool. :)
