Default Tried to sell stuff on eBay-no takers

I brought some stuff to an eBay store to sell. Bidding closed now, and there were no bids on anything. Now what do I do with this stuff? A bridesmaid dress I wore last year, a flower girl dress from DD, and a pair of shoes that never fit me. Any ideas?

Consignment? Or, if the bridesmaid dress is appropriate, maybe you could donate it to an organization that provides prom dresses to girls who don't have the $ for a dress?

The flowergirl dress might go on BBB SWAP...

Best,
Mary

What's the BBB Swap and how to I get involved?
No consignment shops around here.

That was exactly my thought!

Donate them. Especially the bridesmaid dress. a lot of cities have a charity that collects bridesmaid dresses and distributes them at prom season.

If you know or can contact the rest of the bridal party, you may try consigning the whole party's dresses at once. Whole parties tend to go faster at consignment shops b/c they all match. Just something a consignment shop once told me.

Alternatively, if you sew, you can make little baby formals out of the material (depending on the color) and sell them yourself on ebay. Or doll clothes for your DD's dolls (if, in fact, your DD does play with dolls).

Another idea is to make potpourri sachets out of the material. Nice looking and smelling for your closet or drawers.

Finally, if all else fails (PPs' posts and/or these ideas), you could take the dresses to a women's shelter. They may have dances, or, as another PP said, need formals for teen dances.

Good luck!

The Princess Project... http://www.princessproject.org/ collects dresses for girls to wear to prom.
Based in SF, but they have donation sites elsewhere.

Ditto the donation - and then you can write it off on your taxes. Everyone wins.
