Celebrity Questions

Ok, I admit that I am addicted to People Magazine. It is my one total trash vice. So I have these questions/thoughts:

1. Why don't we see pix of Nicole Kidman with her kids? In one interview, she said she hoped to be a mother who would, one day, be friends with her children. She is in LA while Keith is in rehab and it just talks about her going to pilates--she doesn't see her kids? Does Tom have them locked up? weird.

2. Angelina Jolie has the wierdest body. She has skinny arms and emaciated feet and hands. But these giant boobs. Or maybe she wears padded bras? Anybody else think her body just looks weird? (I did love her in the Laura Croft movies--she makes a great adventure gal)

3. I love Brooke Sheilds. I am also 41 with a 17 mos old girl. While I may never have Brooke's body or good looks, we do share wrinkles. Look at pix of her--the woman has a mature face that has not had oodles of plastic surgery. She has smile lines and wrinkles on her neck. It is wonderful. Thank you Brooke, from all the "mature" moms out here.

I am also addicted to trash/celebrity stuff (although now that I'm addicted to the diaper hunt, I've slacked off).

I've seen pictures of Nicole with the kids, but not as much as Tom and Katie. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that Tom is OBSESSED with getting pictures of himself. I totally think he sets them up on purpose. I think Nicole is just a lot more private with the kids, whereas Tom is a media w**re.

I don't really like Angelina, but I do think she has an odd body shape.

I love that Brooke Shields was very up front about her IVF experiences. One of my friends met her in passing at a benefit and told her what a difference it had made to her (my friend had 4 failed IVFs) to see a celeb actually talking about it. Brooke stopped and hugged her and they shared a nice "moment". She seems like a nice person.

Can't chime in on the others. :) People was my vice when I rode a train to work every week - no work, no train, no People. lol.

I've been a People addict for years and years!! My neighbor and I now trade off buying the issues and share them with each other. My sister bought me a subscription for Christmas one year - one of the best presents ever!!! :)

I have thought about every singe thing you posted about. With Nicole, I'm guessing that she just prefers to keep her time with her children private rather than turn it into a photo op. ITA about Brooke Shields - she seems very "real".

I have to agree that Nicole doesn't seem like such a media whore as Tom. I do think that they stay with Tom more.

I haven't seen a pic of Angelina in a while.

Have you read Brooke's book Down Came the Rain. I just finished it and I think it was a great book. She just seems really real and I'm glad that she shared her experience. I didn't think it was preachy at all.

Now I'm looking forward to reading People at my next chiro. appointment. They have all of the good juicy mags there.

I don't read People, but I do have one comment...

Angelina Jolie is scary. Something about her just freaks me out. She seems like she might bite you or something if you get too close.

Rebecca, you really hit on something about Nicole/Tom and their kids. Through all of the publicity with both (lately? always?) I keep wondering if they ever see their kids?! I don't think we need to see pics or gossip about them, but it really bothers me that you could practically track the parents' days through gossip and never hear/see anything about their children.

Have to wonder if they remember that they're parents... :(

i, too, think it's odd that Nicole is never at all these soccer/football games of her son like Tom and Katie always are....i mean...why aren't the both there? he's playing football...if my kid were playing football--I WOULD BE THERE!

Britney Spears is always being blasted as a bad mom, but i don't think i've seen a picture of her out and about since the birth of her son where she is not with him. SHe is clearly devoted--if nothing else....
