I just posted this over in What's Cooking but wasn't sure how much traffic it gets. Does anyone know if it is safe to use a cracked crockpot? DD knocked over my brand new crockpot and there is a chip out of one of the handles and a hairline crack about 1/3 of the way down the crock. Anyone know if it is still safe to use?? I've never even used it. :(
TIA, Susan

I wouldn't use it. Call the manufacturer of the crockpot and they will probably send you a new crock. Do you still have the receipt?

Yeah I thought about calling them (Rival) - it wasn't a very expensive crockpot to begin with ($25ish) so I'm thinking that a replacement crock with shipping might end up more expensive than just buying a whole new crockpot! Sigh. Maybe I'll try calling them anyway.
Thanks for the reply! Susan
