New-ish Here :)

I've been reading this board off and on for years now, and have found it the best resource! I registered a few years back, but never really jumped on in until today. This is the last thing I remember posting under my old username

What's funny is that I found out I was expecting that Christmas...back to the drawing board on mission defrumpification, I suppose!

A little about myself -

I'm a 32yo SAHM to 4, DD is 11, DS1 is 8, DS2 is almost 5, and DS3 is 20 months old. DH travels a lot for work, which is when I get to catch up on old movies, internet shopping, and rearranging the furniture.

I love to cook, am trying to learn how to sew, and am the world's worst knitter. I am addicted to house porn. Realtor.com, decorating blogs, Cottage Living. So sad. I really need to put my energy into making this house 'ours', but I don't love it. (We could live anywhere in a 1hr radius from Baltimore, but I still don't know the area well enough to look for anything else, and the prices are pretty steep, I suppose. Another post, I think...so let's move on!)

Hmmm, what else? Most of our week is spent running from kid's lessons, driving them to & from school, and trying to do the laundry as fast as they can produce it. I would love to entertain, go out, have a pedicure...but I am too buried in housework, and am IRL pretty shy. All of our family lives overseas...mine in Germany, DH's in the UK, Australia, Spain. We're close, but no weekend bbqs or Thanksgiving dinners. DH's work schedule also limits our social life a lot...so we're pretty much homebodies. We haven't had a sitter since 2002. I've just now realized...that's 5 yrs. OMG.

I am a sucker for German toys, really, anything well made. I'm an only child. I love making lists, office supplies, and organizing. (If you saw my house, you might not guess that about me...I seem to be the only organized person living here!)

That's about it! I really don't know what else to add, so please, ask me anything you care to know! :)

Welcome back! Sounds like you are a busy, busy family. That is great that you love to cook! (I WISH I did);). It stinks that your DH travels alot and you are so far away from family...but could that you stay busy.

Im currently living overseas (and have been for over 2 years now) in Italy..and know the feeling of missing my family especially around the holidays...
