Default Bjorn vs. Hug-A-Bub

I just ordered a Hug-a-bub, but am now wondering if it was a mistake. I find the Bjorn uncomfortable for my back, and the Hug-a-Bub seems to be worn at the same points, so won't that be uncomfortable as well? Would I be better off with something that goes on differently, like a pouch? Thanks.

I have worn both and prefer the HaB. The difference for me is that the Bjorn would dig into my neck and shoulders. With the HaB, I just slide the shoulder part outward, toward the shoulder joint, kwim? I much prefer the HaB.

I may be wrong, but doesn't the hugabub tie on similarly to the moby, with a wrap around the waist? If so, I found the Moby much more comfortable than the Bjorn after he hit around 15 lbs, because of the waist wrap and because the "straps" are wider.

The HaB is much more comfortable and easier on the back IMO. The "straps" are wider and can be spread out, and the weight is distributed more evenly. Personally, I have found that pouches seem to bother my back more. HTH

No no, not a mistake at all! They feel very different on, with the weight being distributed much better in a HaB. Wider spread on the shoulders plus distribution to the waist/hips make it much more comfortable! It takes practice, but I don't think you will be disappointed. This is the most comfortable carrier (out of about a kajillion) for the front position that I have tried. And yes, Susan, it ties the same way as the Moby.

Okay, thanks. I think I'm feeling guilty about spending the money. I'll have to see how it feels.

One other question -- is it secure? Seems like it might get too stretched out and not hold the baby tight enough. And if it does get stretched, can you shrink it back down by washing & drying?

I have gotten better at tying mine tightly. It just took a little practice. My DS is 18 lbs so he does stretch it a bit but I just put it on snugly and have no problems. I am sure that a wash and dry would also help but I haven't gotten to that (although mine could use it).
