Default Is Disney World that much better than DLand?

We are going to Miami this summer and since we live in Arizona, that would be the closest I am ever going to be to DisneyWorld. We have been to DL many times (pre-Julia).

How far is DW from Miami and is it worth it to go with a 2 yr old? We would probably have to get a rental car, a few hour drive, and stay overnight in a hotel- we have my uncle's apartment in Miami.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Well, WDW is MUCH MUCH bigger than DL. I think they say that DL would fit in the Magic Kingdom's parking lot! We adore WDW and have been many times, and Sarah has already been 3 times. :) So of course I think its worth it with a 2 year old. But I think you need 3-4 days to do it any kind of justice. And Orlando is about a 4 hour drive from the Miami area.

At WDW you have 4 Disney parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM and Animal Kingdom) plus two water parks and also Downtown Disney. There is a LOT at each park for a 2 year old to do and enjoy. We usually spend 2 full days at MK, and a half-day day to full day for each of the other parks. And we are never able to do all we want to do in that amount of time. After the MK, Sarah's fav park is probably Epcot, AK and MGM in that order although ALL the parks have things to offer for young children.

HTH,

Thanks Beth! With the four hour drive, we are still considering whether or not to go to WDW. Sounds like a lot of fun but maybe we'll wait until the "kids" are older. And right now, we don't have more than 1 or 2 days to spend there.
