Default Anyone ever made shoe covers for costumes?

DS is going to be a pirate and I would rather that his white Nikes aren't glaringly obvious. I don't want to go overboard, but if there was some way to make little shoe covers that might look like boots to go over his tennis shoes, I would have time to do it. What do you think? Anyone ever do this, or have a "slipper" type pattern I could adapt?

Default RE: Anyone ever made shoe covers for costumes?

I have never made any shoe covers but I have seen some, particularly on a santa costume we use at the holidays. Basically it was a boot with no bottom that was put on before the shoe and then slipped back down over the shoe to cover it.
I would make a tube and try to finiggle the top cover. Try out of felt or something study like that. I don't have the costume available or I could copy the thing for you on the scanner. I hope that's some help.
I'm sure your lil' pirate will be a hit matey :)
