Default How did you wean completely? Trying to end those last BF sessions.

When DD was born BF was an issue because DS wanted so much of my attention. I decided I would BF until 6 mos and then wean. Well, 6 mos came and went and here we are almost 13 mos and I am still BF. I am at a point that I want to stop, but I do not think DD is ready. I am down to 2 - 3 feedings a day, but a few that I cannot seem to give up are the ones when I get home from work (3 days a week, I am in the office) and the ones when she is going to sleep. I probably got into a bad habit, but I always nursed her to sleep. So if she wakes up during the night, the only way to comfort her, is to nurse. Is there any way to change her habits at this stage in the game? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Melissa

Default RE: How did you wean completely? Trying to end those last BF sessions.

I believe this is what my friend said she did...it's a plan I'm following so far...
At 11 months, she went to morning and evening first (just when she woke up and right before bed). Then at 12 months she cut out the morning one, because that was easiest since they want to get up and play/eat cereal anyway. Then at 13 months she was at night only until, I think at 15 months, went to every other night until she weaned. I don't remember it taking her all that long, but everyone is different.
