Default breast pads, disposable or reusable

I'm 9 months and counting down to D-Day! I'm getting some of the last minute nursing supplies handy and I am wondering if the reusable nursing pads are worth it. I was an overproducer with my first child and the sample cloth pads I had were useless. Are there better ones out there that I won't be constantly leaking through or should I just stick with the J&J disposables I found to work the first time around?

Also is the brest friend really worth the money. I had a boppy and hated it so it was never used. I found it didn't give enough height for me and was useless, the brest friend seems thinner, am I wrong?

Thanks
Betsey

I know exactly what you mean about the cotton pads not being up to the job, but I hate disposable ones so I've just been changing pads very frequently and doing laundry often. The only reusable nursing pads I have that really work are wool-backed. They're fabulous! Mine are too visible under my clothes, but there are better designs out there- I really want some but they are rather expensive. They'd be worth it, though.

As far as easily-available cotton pads go, I've tried Gerber, Lansinoh and Medela. Gerber are the only ones that don't leak *through* onto my shirt, but they absorb almost nothing so the milk runs down my breast and leaks onto my clothes that way. They're useless. The Lansinoh and Medela are better, (I prefer the Lansinoh) but they are only good for one nursing *maybe* before they're saturated. My wool pads absorb a ton but feel dry and never leak before I change them- and I'm an overproducer, too.

I found that I prefer the disposable pads-but I think it is a personal preference thing.
I am not familiar with the brest friend but also wasn't crazy about the boppy. I actually have used a queen size down pillow as my nursing pillow for both kids. I bf'd Jack 15 months and am at 5months tomorrow with Anna.
