And it has turned out to be a good experiment. I never pulled out the blender for just me, but making these with Alek is fun.
We used - -- vanilla yogurt -- plain yogurt -- frozen whole strawberries -- banana -- baby spinach leaves -- tofu I think this is probably a high calorie breakfast? Alek drank a little and signed "ice cream" and said yes when I asked him if it tasted like ice cream, and he asked for a cone. I got popsicle molds at the grocery store and am freezing four portions for him. I hope he likes them frozen too. So now I'm going to ask for more flavor variations, other ingredient options and refinements for our smoothies, as long as Alek likes them, they'll become part of our regular breakfast / snacks cycle. ETA: The only bummer about the tofu is the package says to use within 2 days and we won't be able to use the whole package, unless other people have great recipes for leftover tofu. I served him about 1 cup, and he drank about 1/2 to 2/3 of a cup. What kind of portions do you usually give?
