Default Help Install Radian 01 Civic

I am trying to install using latch

I put my knee into the seat, pulled the strap through the belt bath and tugged. I've attached the top teather and it didn't help much.
I just can't get a tigh install the base moves way more than an inch.

I had my child just sit in the seat to check my harness height etc and it felt like when I went to tighten his straps the base moved more!

Should I just do a seatbelt install? I'll have to read about the lock off etc.

THANKS

Have you tried lowering the 'recline foot' base thingie? Sometimes that's the 'trick' to getting it to be a slightly more solid install. Beyond that, there are two things I can tell you: the base is always a touch more wiggly than a well installed Britax (for comparison), but as long as the LATCH and top tether are tight, it's ok, you can kind of shove it back into place and will learn to finesse the harness adjuster so it doesn't pull the seat forward as much. It's still perfectly safe. And 2, this seat takes a good amount of practice at installing it before it seems easy and rock solid... it's just going to take a few tries before you are thrilled with it. Yes, do try a seatbelt install, you won't need a locking clip, just pull the shoulderbelt all the way out to lock it...it may well be better than the LATCH, and you do have to use the seatbelt for a kid over 40lbs in a Honda anyway, so might as well try it now. Always use the top tether, with the lower LATCH or the seatbelt.
Fingers crossed for you your next install is rock solid!!!
