Default convertible seat for second (small!) car?

I'm looking at options for a convertible seat for our second very small car (Toyota Echo). DD will ride in this car only on rare occasions, but of course I want to make a good choice for this seat. What do people recommend? She's still in the infant seat but is a big girl so who knows how long that will last Thanks!

2 door or 4 door? I know for sure the Marathon fits fine in it (as long as the front passengers aren't TOO tall), because I kept my own dd RF till age 3 in that car...except it was a Prius...same body
The Evenflo Triumph Advance looks bulky, but takes up very little front to back space and should probably work. The new Compass True Fit (Safety First Travel Gear...they are chaning the name, but true fit works on google) might also be good...the headrest comes off for RF up to 22 pounds so younger kids can be more reclined in smaller cars.

I have a Britax Marathon in the back of my Saab Convertible. It is a very small space, but fits well forward facing. If you go to babies-r-us they will let you bring the car seats out to your car to see if they fit.

Our pickup truck (a Dakota club cab) had very little space in the back seat, and the only seat we could fit rear-facing in there was the Evenflo Triumph. I really liked that seat. DS is stocky as opposed to tall, so it was nice and roomy for him. And I also liked how the harnass adjusted.

Are the Advance models a lot bigger? They look taller in the pictures on the website, but I can't measurements to compare.

They are really tall...the harness is a bit higher than the Marathon, even. But it's got more of a curve to the seat so they take up remarkably little RF space front to back...not as good as the original triumph, but in some cases less than a marathon

Our Echo is a four door. That's good to know about the Marathon fitting in a Prius; thanks for the recommendations of the other seats as well!
