Default freaking out

Background: DD's birthday party is this weekend. I also have a 7 month old who has some GI issues.

We were just at playgroup with other kids from DD's preschool and one of the mom's casually mentions her son was complaining before playgroup that his neck hurt and his tummy hurt. I'm already thinking WTF? Why did you bring him?

THEN HE STARTED VOMITING. This is after he had eaten out of the shared bowl of goldfish, and played with a few toys.

This mom brings her son to school when he is sick all the time, which is annoying enough. But today, I'm furious. And thinking stomach flu, meningitis, etc...argh!

Talk me down. At a minimum I feel like I need to keep DD home from school tomorrow just in case, considering she has a party planned for this weekend.

Ok, next time you have my permission to ask her why she brought her DC to playgroup if he didn't feel well! What a jerky thing to do! I mean, a runny nose is one thing, but vomiting? For heaven's sake! Put that kiddo into bed!

I wouldn't worry too much about meningitis. When I taught school a lot of kids would say that their neck hurt when they meant their throat or ears. That being said, he might have strep, it is going around where we live.

Of course if you want DD to stay home tomorrow that is fine, but the way I see it is that she's been exposed already, any damage that might have been done already has!

Plus the little guy shouldn't be at school tomorrow. Don't most places have a 24 hour vomit free rule? If you take your DC in tomorrow and he is there I'd have a word with the director. If he's vomiting he needs to be at home in bed. Poor baby!

And just my little BTDT b!tch: Today I got a group email (not a personal one) from a mom we had lunch with last week. Her DC has scarlet fever, so they won't be coming to next week's meeting. You'd THINK she might want to call personally to let me know to keep an eye out?? Hello? Anybody home??? Sheesh.

that's awful! I was at a friends DD's 1st b-day party and one set of parents with like 7 kids were there-2 ended up puking all over. Um, keep them home. And once they threw up it wasn't like they left. So DS and I did.
