Default Sienna owners - anyone's trunk door break?

The "rear hatch" of my 2004 Sienna wont stay open! I took it in to get fixed and now it will stay open if I open it manually, but wont stay open if I use the key chain remote or the button inside the car.

I took it to the dealership 3 days in a row last week and it still isn't fixed. They replaced the motor and then when it still didn't work they said they need to replace the motor AGAIN (it was faulty). I'm really frustrated!

Anyone else have this problem?

Yes! We got a letter from Toyota saying the rear trunk door malfunctions and that we can bring it in to be fixed. We asked them to fix it last time we had scheduled maintenance but they said it doesn't malfunction in warm weather, only cold weather. We opted to wait until cold weather because we couldn't wait for them to fix it.

I got bonked in the head a couple of times this past winter while loading groceries!

go to the forums at siennaclub.org and you can look up the information you need to give to the dealer to get it fixed properly. We had ours checked and it is fine, so they said they wouldn't replace it unless it was failing.
