Default Tips on shipping a stroller?

I just sold my UPPABaby Vista (sad to see it go!) and when I ship it tomorrow, I want to make sure I pack it well enough so that there is no damage. I am thinking of just removing the wheels and putting all parts into one box, maybe wrapping a few things in bubble tape and stuffing some packing paper in there too.
I'll have to pack the base, wheels, seat, bassinet, and sun/rain shields.

I hadn't thought it through and DH got on my case last night that it would be no easy task to pack and ship it.
I think he's just upset that I am taking time to do this when I should be helping pack for our move though.

Should I maybe do 2 smaller boxes, one for the seats and one for the wheels and base?

I am a shipping rookie.

No help to you, about the shipping (although off the cuff, I would say two boxes are twice as likely to get lost as one, so I would try to keep it all in one box), but I saw you said you're moving -- did you guys end up buying a house? Why are you getting rid of the stroller?

Nosy me, over here...

I just wanted to mention I received a damaged stroller that I ordered on-line and the issue there was the frame where it attaches to the wheels poked through the box when the wheels were removed. So, I would recommend wrapping the frame ends with bubble wrap so they aren't sharp and don't break out of the box.

Good luck.

I'm pretty sure StrollerQueen has some tips on her yahoogroup. Or you could post over there. Folks were super helpful when I shipped an Emma from WestCoast to EastCoast....

Yes, we bought a house! We closed today, I am so excited.
I am selling the Vista because it was a total splurge and I already have a P3, an MBUS, and a Zapp. We also sold a used jogging stroller at our garage sale
And with unexpected closing costs, overall purge mindset, etc. that comes with moving, I decided one of my fleet needed a new home.
I really liked that stroller but I decided that that would be the one to go if I could only sell one. Although it is arguably my nicest one.
And I will post on strollerswap. That's actually where I posted about selling and where the buyer and I found each other.

Thanks!

Congratulations! That is awesome for you guys.

Good thing about moving: you get to clean out a ton of crap. Bad thing about moving: you realize how much crap you DO have. Including strollers in your case, apparently.

Hope it was a good experience for you and you're happy with the house you found. Hope the stroller shipping goes well!
