Default So this is how I know I'm sleep deprived...

So, this morning I'm sitting down on the couch to pump. I'd been pumping for about 30 seconds and I feel something wet on my leg. I think to myself that there must be some sort of leak, but in my sleep deprived state, I ignore this. However, as another 10 seconds pass and I continue to get wetter, I finally look down and realize that I had forgotten to attach a milk bottle to the pump! I was basically pumping the milk out right onto my leg. Yeah, I think I need to get some more sleep. If only DS2 would get that message!

BTW, DH got a real kick out of this and is still chuckling about it.

Since one just does not simply walk into Mordor, I say we form a conga line and dance our way in.
Excuse me, are you in a play?

thanks for the chuckle.

I was just telling a friend that I can barely understand the instructions to set up my breast pump. I'm not sure if I'm going to know how to do it when the baby finally comes and I'm running on no sleep.

Hope you got to rest a bit.

Yes, I remember feeling like that. I used to pump in the bathroom at work and would sometimes fall asleep sitting there. One time I let the bottles slip from my hands and had some wet spots on my pants. A little hard to explain. You'll make it through it somehow- good luck and hope you get some sleep soon!

BTDT on the sleep deprivation! While I primarily BF, on occasion, I will pump to relieve engorgement. Also, now that DD2 is nearly a month, I will pump for some flexibility to get out of the house more too. I have delegated pump set up and clean up to DH. I figure that if I can endure the pumping and take care of the majority of the feedings that this is a good way for him to help out.

DD2 went almost 5 hours between feedings last night (normally it is right at 3 hours) so MAYBE there is hope for me yet!

I'm sorry that it happened but you will be laughing really hard down the road. I hope dh makes it up to you by giving you some time to nap. Try bf in the laying down position.
