My mom bought a Scenera for her car today. DS is almost 17 mo., 26 lbs. and 31.5 inches tall. We want to RF him as long as possible, and I see RF max is 35 lbs, but only 35 inches. Really? Do we have to keep to that 35 inch rule? I really don't want to turn him around any time soon, and if he keeps growing at the same rate, he will hit 35 inches before he's 2.
If that's the case, I think I need to get a different seat for her car. Help!

I wouldn't worry about the standing height limit as long as the head is no closer than an inch to the top of the seatback....so you should still have some time (The Safety 1st Uptown at BigLots for $65) or Avenue (Sears and Kmart for $80) are rather a lot taller for RF and FF though, and have EPS foam and install a bit better, if you want to look at something that's not a lot more money

Hmmm, we may check those out. My mom doesn't have him in her car that often, and up until now we've been using his infant seat in her car (Safeseat, so he still fits). But with #2 on the way, I figured we should start looking ... and there was a Scenera at Target on clearance for $37 today! But then I was looking at the box and thought it wasn't going to be much of a deal if we had to FF him in a few months.
Thanks so much for the info!
