For babies I love Carters. Can't beat the quality, availability and price

for first 6-9months or so, i love Carters, hands down. Cute designs, and super cheap in price especially if you shop sales at outlets and use coupons. I don't spend too much $$ on clothes in this stage bc 1) it is just way too likely to get peed/pooed/puked on or otherwise soiled and 2) the clothes in these sizes get outgrown quicker than you can say Jack Robinson.

now that my son is older (1yo) and is not growing as fast (and can manage to wear an outfit for an entire day without it getting ruined) clothes are mostly from Hanna Anderson, Gymboree, and a few from Gap. For PJs, i love the Hanna zippers..they last so much longer than anything else, especially if you have a tall baby. I like the matching sets in Gymbo - pants, socks, onesies etc that coordinate. And the rompers at Gymbo are super cute...love those especially for summer. THe quality of HA in general seems a bit better though. And as for Gap, i love their stuff, but sometimes the styles are a bit too "hip" for my taste.

Default Another vote for Lands End

I agree that as kids get older, this is a go to site for everything you need- tees, sweats, parkas, boots, bathing suits, etc. I think they are also very smart to send the catalogs with free shipping codes so often. It makes you more likely to order whenever you need something, even if it's just one thing. The quality is great too. Good for hand-me-downs.

DD is 14months and nearly every item in her wardrobe is Carters. Only her ittybittiest stuff is any other brand and thats just because I didn't realize how much better carter's is.

Carters by far the most...they have a great selection and have all held up real well and usually reasonable prices...selection: ok, but kind of hit or miss if you aren't keen on the season's designs or colors. The only thing I've not loved from carters is their waffle-weave button up pajamas that don't unbutton down the legs. And their sizing seems very consistent and "standard" and easy to find the right/correct size based on baby's weight regardless of age (we have a 95th percentile baby...no brand is "accurate" in sizing for his size)

Gymboree stuff is excellent as far as quality and durability and great designs, but their prices are sometimes more than I want to spend.

For pajamas for a tall baby, it is disappointing most of the feetsy pajamas by carters only go up to 9mo size and didn't fit at 5 months, but nice that Gymboree's 6-12 month size worked.

I've also been very happy with the quality of Little Wonders clothes that I've gotten at department stores (Kohls or Sears?), but their sizing runs small/short, so we had to throw away the onesie from a three-piece set to get a sweatshirt that fit right. But the quality is great on their clothing and prices reasonable, and some VERY cute designs.

Walmart's Faded Glory onesies sizes have seemed fairly true, excellent value, but not much selection or fun designs.

The Amy Coe stuff at babies r us seems to have completely random sizing--I've found three month and 9 month t-shirts that are exactly the same size, not so keen on that.

My favorites:
Carter's (now at 3, I find the sizes run a little small, so I have to size up in pants, but I love the quality and price)
Baby Gap (as a toddler their pants and jeans are the best fit for DS, not crazy about the tops design-wise)
Janie and Jack (I usually only visit the sale section)
The Children's place for socks and shirts.

I've also liked Target Circo brand, and when DS was younger I got a lot of Carter's Target brand stuff (Just one year).

Also Land's End.

I'm in agreement with the Carters being the best for the early years. Although you can't beat hand-me-downs as babies grow so fast they sometimes don't even get a chance to wear half of the stuff that's bought for them!
