Default another BJCM question - about collapse/fold

got the BJCM to keep at my parents house. love the easy fold...nothing complicated for them

except that i'm now realizing that every time you want to use it, you have to unfold it and then snap those things around the posts? and then when you're done, you have to undo the snaps before you refold?

or am i reading the instructions wrong?

i suppose it's not a huge deal...just kind of annoying to have to get down low to find those snaps. a little defeating of the purpose of simple fold in my opinion

Yup, the instructions say to do that. However, I don't bother snapping that part and it's never caused a problem. It would defeat the whole purpose of the easy fold!

ah...see this is what i was wondering!

so you do not bother with the straps/snaps and do not find any issues with collapse or whatever. (i'm assuming that is the reason why the straps are supposed to be snapped)

anyone else skip this step?

Back when I posted this same question it appeared that everyone skips this step. I was surprised! I haven't had any collapses and it feels just as secure without the strap snapped as it does with it.

When I researched the issue as well, people were skipping the step. We are not using the snaps and it is fine.

By the way, I didn't notice those snaps when we first pulled our BJCSD out of the box and ripped one of the snaps right off the frame. whooops. Turns out I never ever use the snaps anyway, so it's not a big deal.
