Husband gave in and said we can get one! But now I need to know how to get the best deal on one. Do they sell them in bundles with extras? Or am I better off getting a console and then getting the games seperate? And what are some favorite games for the 5 to 8 year old boy crowd?
Thanks. I am very excited about this. I can't believe he is letting us get one. For a year now he has been saying no and now he just suddenly changed his mind. Thanks, Jessica. |

Never even thought about trying for a deal - in my area it's still lucky to find one! (though i heard it's getting easier and more places are in stock!)

I don't think you'll find a 'deal' on one anywhere, but sometimes you can get lucky and find them at Target. I've seen the Wii units around more and more these days, it's the Wii Fit that's impossible to find. Another option is to buy on Ebay and go through Cashback at Live.com - I think the current rebate is 8% but sometimes it's as high as 30%.

Definitely hard to come by these days! We actually got ours last fall before the holiday rush and they were still scarce. We basically callled our local Gamestop daily to find out if they were getting a shipment. I would recommend this with any of your local stores that carry the Wii. Our Wii came with WiiSports which has very basic versions of baseball, golf, tennis, bowling, and boxing. We all still enjoy this game! The big favorites here are the Lego series-Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones, and Lego Batman. My 5YO especially likes these. My 8YO tends to like the sports games like Mario Super Sluggers, but he's very into sports in general right now. I was at the game store today and the clerk was raving about Mario Party 8 so I think we may try that one soon. I would recommend renting games at Blockbuster or the like to try them out before buying them actually. We learned the hard way that some games the boys *think* will be great are duds and we're out $50. Good luck finding one-it's a lot of fun!

When we drive by ToyRUs, there is usually a big white sign with blue/black letter saying "We have the Wii" or "Wii in Stock." or something to that effect. And once they are out of stock, they take down the sign. You might want to check at ToysRUs to see if they have any in stock.
We purchased ours at Costco. It came with two controllers, two nunchuks, Wii play, Wii Sports, and the console. That's an amazing deal since it typically only comes with one controller and one nunchuk at other stores. Or with just Wii Sports and no other games. |

A couple of weeks ago they had them at TJ Maxx (one with a Homegoods). Not sure about the price, but I think they had the fit bundle too...
