OK, so THIS post is in the BP. Grrrr
We are officially snowed in. The police are asking people to stay off the roads. DH has decided he can't commute tomorrow. Thankfully, I had planned to work at home tomorrow anyway (was supposed to be the first day of vacation for me, but I'm drowning at work...). I'm actually hoping that my office will officially close b/c the roads are so unsafe (I doubt they will). We are fine for food, Christmas is good to go (well, except for DH's gift, but hopefully I can deal with that later in the week. If not, I got him other stuff). DD#2 has had pretty liquid poops all weekend. THAT is fun, been doing laundry non-stop. DD#1 has basically collapsed just before dinner -- my tummy hurts, laid down on the couch and fell asleep. If you knew my girls, you would know that she has to be sick b/c she d/n sleep. Like, ever. I thought she felt warm, took her temp -- no fever. I thought, that's weird. So, I tried it on myself. Guess who has a fever??? Yup, that would be me. WTF? I do not have time to get sick. I have to get Christmas ready. I have work to do. Damn it, NOT NOW. DH put his back out slipping at work earlier in the week, so he's all whiny. And, he says he has a sore throat. You know what Santa's bringing me? A house full of sick people. Ugh.

Just think "Maui," Melissa. Just think "Maui!"
Sorry things aren't looking the way you want them to right now. Is it pretty and quiet outside with everyone off the roads?

Sigh. DD#1 just puked. Three times. Sigh.
Oh well, I guess the good news is that DD#2 didn't puke. Just came out the other end. Sigh. I'm bummed. I suggested that their daycare do a charity toy drive and they are doing it TOMORROW. Argh. I feel like a heel -- one of the parents (a dr) refused, so I know the daycare is feeling kinda bad about it. Maybe I'll send DH with the gifts??? AHHH, she just puked in the powderoom sink. DH -- NOT acceptable. Nice. McDonalds french fries. Niiiiiiiccce. We rarely ever eat there, but yup, ate there today at Walmart. Fast, easy (definitely NOT cheap), and no, I don't feel guilty b/c we eat mainly organic otherwise and very very healthy. And, they had My Little Pony in the Happy Meals. In my house, that is a good thing. Ugh.

Big hugs to you, Melissa! It stinks that you have to deal with this right before the holidays and while you are stuck home due to weather. If it helps, DH is the BIGGEST whiner when he throws his back out.

Thanks ladies. Well, I'm now sick. Ugh. And no one to take care of *me* (DH could, but you know how that is...).

{{{Hugs Melissa}}} I just posted more to your cold weather thread, but now see that it's pretty irrelevant. We've all been struck down by some horrific gastro since about Fri. as well and are just now recovering...I feel your pain. I wanted to post on the thread about how men are such babies when sick but I was too sick LOL. You can DO this - you're a strong woman! Sorry we can't come by and help you out a bit
Are your kids old enough to know if you move Christmas by a day or two? I don't have a good idea of how old you have to be before the calendar has much meaning. Seriously, we were considering it ourselves, but it looks like things might be getting a bit better here.
