Default Dutailier Upholstered Glider Sizes...?

Hello,

My wife and I are expecting our first child in two months, and we know that we DEFINITELY want an upholstered glider for the nursery, and at this point we've settled on Dutailier. Unfortunately, because of where we live, it is IMPOSSIBLE to try out an upholstered glider in person (to give you an idea - we're 2.5 hours away from even the nearest Target store, let alone a BRU!).
We are both tall (my wife is 5'9" and I'm 6') and we're mainly worried that there won't be enough room in the chair to nurse comfortably.

After doing some research online (http://dutailier.com/nursery.php), I found a few different models we're interested in, and I was hoping to get some feedback if you happen to own one of these. I've noticed that the 150 (button back), 151 (also button back), 152 (fixed cushion), and 154 (loose cushion) models all range in size slightly, and also probably range a bit in "total seat area".

I would VERY MUCH appreciate any feedback that you all can provide about satisfaction with these upholstered gliders, and comments/warnings/compliments about them as well.

Thanks!

we have a dutalier upholstered glider. i don't know the model number or name. but i can tell you that the cushion you sit on is loose(you can take it off the chair.) it also has swivel and recline. as well as a removable pillow that acts like a lumbar type support pillow. we also got (free) a gliding ottoman with a nursing stool built right in.

i am 5'5" and my husband in 6'3". we worried with most gliders that his head would be over the top of the glider, and not able to rest. he has not a any trouble in that department.

we keep a large bed pillow to the left of us on the seat cushion. works like an arm rest. the chair is amply wide for most people i would think.

we would not be without the swivel and recline features. particularly the recline.

hth. good luck. and rest up.

just checked out the 154. and the other 150 models. we got ours about 2 yrs ago and the 154 is almost identical. the back part seems to be either wider or not as tall. i imagine that it is wider(and just as tall), as i wouldn't think that they would make the chair smaller. hth.

Thanks Neeley!
That's a really big help. Getting the ottoman/stool for free was quite the deal - nice find!

I realized I should have included the link for others to reference: http://dutailier.com/nursery.php

I'd appreciate any other feedback people have,

Default I don't mean to make it harder but...

Hi Dave-
I sat in a friend's Dutalier upholstered glider and fell in love. I'm 5'10'', my husband is 6'0'' and this glider was perfect: fit me in the seat in terms of leg length, was high enough in the back so my neck didn't have to bend backwards. She unfortunately did not have her paperwork and couldn't remember the model number.

I went to the store where she purchased her chair (just within the last 6 months) and while they didn't have a sample to sit in, I compared the dimensions of the Dutalier chairs I could sit in with the dimensions of both the 154 and 174 series. Both seemed, by spec dimension and appearance, to possibly be the one she purchased. In the store, the 174 glider was $800. I found the 154 glider at closeout at http://www.albeebaby.com/dutailier-u...r-154-103.html for $369, which was more comparable to the $500ish my friend said she paid for the chair full price (as compared to the $800 price tag for the 174). I emailed it to my friend who said it looked just like her glider so I purchased it.

After I made the purchase, I was in baby store and they had a sign saying the 154 103 was on sale and I sat in the chair that was advertised. It was much smaller than I expected and did not feel as roomy or high in back as my friend's chair. I did not get a chance to talk to someone about it so I can't be sure it WAS the exact chair I purchased (I hope not!). I'm nervous now that I bought a smaller chair than I need, despite the research I did on the dimensions.

I'm sorry to say that I can't give you definitive answers on which would be large enough until I get the chair I ordered. But I recommend that you maybe call Dutalier or the vendor you think you will purchase from to confirm the products dimensions and ask as many questions as possible...I wish I did more of this.
