Default When it rains it pours!

So last week I posted about how DH has shingles. Thankfully, he hasn't been too sick...going to work each day, etc. But then DD and I got colds and now I think DD has croup. She had that lovely barking cough last night for a brief period but no fever and no problems after that episode. But, we kept her home and are taking her to the ped just in case. Of course this happens to be my busiest week of the year at work and the last thing I need to be doing is taking a sick day from work. And to top it off I think AF is arriving a few days early. I'm sure the stress has something to do with that. Oh, and I am going to be away from DH and DD for 6 days next week because of a conference that I run (reason why I'm crazy busy this week is finalizing conference prep) and she still nurses 2x a day so trying to pack, thinking about pumping while I'm gone (which I haven't done in quite a while so I'm worried I'll forget to bring a part or 2), making sure that DH has every thing he needs to survive the week with DD by himself, etc is all just becoming overwhelming.
Pass the twisty straw it's going to be a rough week!

Awww.. that sucks.

Just an FYI - let the ped know that she has been exposed to CP, even if she is vaccinated. Steriods are often prescribed for croup and steriods and CP are a bad combination. We went through this with DS1 who had croup with CP.

Thanks for that info. DH is taking her to the ped in a few minutes and I just called him to let him know that.

O-mom thanks for the advice on the steroids. DH asked the PA about it and she complimented him for asking the best question ever. The PA said that because DD had the CP vax that she's fine in that regard but that the steroid will make her slightly more susceptible to the things she hasn't been vax'd for yet. Oh, and it is croup. Thankfully she isn't running a fever and is in good spirits so fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse before getting better.

There's definitely a glass of wine in my future!

I am having one of those weeks too, but I have to complement you, you have the BEST attitude for someone having a rough week. You must be an optimist

Really? DH would be to read this. I guess it's one of those situations that if you don't laugh you cry. Hope your week is looking up.

I hear ya... no longer nursing, but when I was it was really hard when I had to travel or go to an all day conference (the kind where I was in town, so I didn't have a hotel room I could just go to). I hated having to find somewhere to do that. It's just one of the really really hard things about being a working mom.
