I've been using Lancome's Dual Finish Pressed Powder for years now, and I'm in search of a more economical substitute. I also used to use MAC's StudioFix powder foundation, which I found to be too heavy as I got older.
Any recommendations for a good pressed powder foundation? Nothing creamy or moist. Thanks for any input!

I no longer use pressed powder (I use Bare Minerals) but when I did, I really liked Cover Girl. Cheap, I know, but it was light and easy to apply with decent coverage.

I was going to suggest MAC StudioFix, lol. I use it and am 43 yo. I don't use it under my eyes, I use a liquid concealer.

When I read the title, I was just going to suggest Lancome. I don't use it, but had a friend that did, and it matched her darker skin perfectly and totally evened out the tone. It is expensive though.
I've heard good reviews of Covergirl Trublend. Might be worth trying since it's so cheap.

I just got some Mary Kay creme to powder foundation and I like it a lot. It's really does glide on like a powder, though it's creamy in the compact. It's not too heavy on my face either. It was around $14. I had been using Everday Minerals but never really like it much on me.

I used the same Lancome one for years. I liked the consistency, but I was a tough shade match.
Anyway, I now use and love BeautiControl's Wet/Dry Foundation. It's $21 retail. (Full disclosure: I'm actually a consultant to get the discount for myself, but I'm not trying to sell anything!!) Anyway, I wear it dry and love it. (It's dry in the compact; you just have the option to wet the sponge for thicker coverage.) If you are wanting something in addition to foundation, this would be too much. But something stand alone,

I had a Christian Dior powder foundation that I loved. This was several years ago, hopefully they still make it.
ETA: Sorry, [slaps head] I didn't catch that you were looking for a more economical substitute. Dior ain't that (which is why I haven't bought it for years).

Pur Minerals is a pressed mineral foundation -- not loose powder like the others. I like it the best.

As someone who is CONSTANTLY looking for (and failing to find) a "good for me" foundation and has yet to find something that I truly like..... If you have one that makes you happy, and you can afford it, keep at it.
I'm envious.
