Default Which Booster Seat?

Hi,

I was in Babys-R-Us yesterday and while I had registered for the Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster Seat

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...uct_skn=520406

my DBF liked the hook-on chair ones. But I don't know about these. Here's one similar to what we looked at:

which one did you get/like?

i actually like the blue/green Healthy Care boosters better because they have 1) a removable tray that I can prepare in the kitchen and bring to them easily - same thing for washability- the removable tray is easier to wash than the whole hook on thing 2)there are height-adjusting lifters under them. The yellow one doesn't have them, I found out when borrowing someone else's.

Here it is an a more neutral color. You can find it in the store, but not at BRU.

The hook on ones are great for certain applications, I've heard, but they won't work on any of our 2 indoor eating places or sunroom table (pedestal) or wrought iron table outside. If the table has a lip under it, many of the hook on ones are not supposed to be used. I've seen them used on a kitchen island with a secure overhang.

I've found the FP ones VERY handy for picnics/eating at the park for playgroup, etc. My kids eat MUCH better when they are strapped in and have a tray in front of them.

You're awesome! Thanks! I'm also registered at Target, and I found it there in the more neutral color and CHEAPER!

I'm going to follow my inclination and your advice and just do this one.

Okay, now onto bassinets, etc.. and then I'll finally be done with my registry!!!!

I'm glad you found it cheaper at Target and in the more neutral colors. I find a lot more people using those boosters, even though they take up an extra dining chair if you use them at the table (we don't usually). The hook on ones might meet your needs more if you have a countertop or the right kind of table, just depends on your application.

We love our Kinderzeat (which is now called the Tripp Trapp)! The booster was a PITA for us. You will not be able to use the booster at your table if your table has an apron on it. Not to mention that you won't need it for a while, so I wouldn't even put it on your registry.

Oh, duh, I didn't even THINK of Lila using it as a real booster seat! We have Kinderzeats also, and that's why I said we don't use them at the table/with chairs. They are just extra places to sit - in the LR while I'm pg and want to put my feet up, outside, at the park, etc. Definitely the KZ/TT for later.

We use the FP boosters as early as 6 mos, though to feed them solids on the road.

We have the FP Healthy Care booster as our main high chair. In fact I loved it so much I bought a 2nd one for guests to use. I had a full size high chair with DS1 and cursed it all the time. DS2 got the booster and it is awesome - still being used daily with DD!

We have the Healthy Care booster- one for at home (to travel to friends homes) and one for each Grandma's house.... It is also nice to have when visitors come to see us- then DD get her HC and the little visitor gets the booster!

LOVE them- so easy (we have the blue and green with height adjustable feature)
