Default Atypical tantrums (EI eval)

I had DS evaluated by EI because I think his speech is delayed. (The EI evaluation indicated he's delayed enough for speech therapy through the state program.) Under the social development portion of the eval, his tantrums were characterized as atypical. This is no news to me. DS is extremely strong willed. I have never seen a toddler with such a short fuse and who is nearly impossible to distract/redirect.

One of the recommendations was for us to meet with a social worker with a psychology background to help cope with his behavior and very short attention span. Have any of you done this kind of work through EI? I have a pretty good idea of how speech therapy works from friends IRL but no one I know has had this particular recommendation from EI. TIA
