Default ISO new CPU - computer question

Costco.com is advertising two "deals" and my only concern is that the reviews are so mixed. Our Dell is overloaded with photos and video so we need another computer - not a monitor, just the CPU - ASAP.

Any thoughts on these or OTHER DEALS, even at a B&M? Thanks so much - it's rather urgent since we have 5th birthday photos and video yet to upload and I'm afraid of losing anything!

Rather than editing OP, I am chiming in to ask if anyone has any brilliant strategies for storing AND using photos and video. We do need a new desktop computer but I am worried about mixed reviews on the two ZT machines offered by Costco. Are there any other reasonably priced CPUs that we should consider this weekend?

Thanks for any input, whether on CPUs in general or on safe, reliable storage and use of large photo files.

Have you thought about just getting an external hard drive and not a new computer? You can get a ton of storage on one of those, without a lot of money.

It sounds like you need more hard drive space and not a cpu, really. You can get an external Terrabite drive for about $120 shipped at Newegg.com.

You're both right and yes, we do have an external hard drive. It's just that our CPU has *also* gotten really slow and bogged down so we are thinking of a CPU in additon to yet another external hard drive. Thanks to both of you for mentioning it - I'll have to check out Newegg.com for our next one!

If we end up needing a new CPU, I'm hoping to find a great deal this weekend. Anything nationally available at either a B&M or online?

Thanks again!
